General Boykin

I listened to Michael Savage yesterday. He talked about General Boykin who apparently made some statement that the war on terror is a religious war. I don' t think he's completely wrong, but of course this was not a politically correct thing to have said. Everyone got on his ass about his comments and apparently his job is now on the line. But hold on before you judge him on this one comment he made! Read the following quotes from him to get the full picture of the man (these were taken from Michael Savage's website. He posted them there for everyone to see ):

"And we ask ourselves this question, 'Why do they hate us? Why do they hate us so much?'

Ladies and gentlemen, the answer to that is because we're a Christian nation, because our foundation and our roots are Judeo-Christian. Did I say Judeo-Christian? Yes. Judeo-Christian.

"That means we've got a commitment to Israel. That mean's it's a commitment we're never going to abandon.

"Go back and read the history books. Go back and read what the early founders of this nation said about Israel, about the Jews. John Adams wrote extensively of, he called it the Hebrews, the contributions they had made to our concepts of liberty and the importance of their contributions to the founding of this great nation.

"Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin each, independently, when asked to come up with a national symbol for this new nation, both came up with a national symbol that reflected on our Jewish heritage.

"One had Moses standing over the Red Sea with his staff and the water parting.

"The other had the Israelites coming out of bondage in the desert being led by a ball of fire. They recognized the importance of our relationship to the Jews and to Israel. Ladies and gentlemen, we will never abandon Israel, we will never walk away from our commitment to Israel because our roots are there.

Our religion came from Judaism, and therefore these radicals will hate us forever."

Everything that he said really made me emotional.

The UN is anti-Semitic

You don't say? Well, while a lot of you have already realized this, many still believe that the UN is a wonderful, highly influential, and important organization when conducting world politics. Nothing that comes out of the UN (these days) I pay any attention to. Here is their most recent crapola:

In a decision seen as a gauge of world opinion, the U.N. General Assembly overwhelmingly approved a resolution demanding that Israel tear down a barrier that it says is needed to protect it from suicide bombers, but that Palestinians call a land grab.
Israeli officials said Wednesday that construction of the fence would continue, while Palestinians applauded the U.N. decision.

Why does the UN want to destroy Israel? The wall is a measure of protection and they want to be ILLEGAL for Israel to build it!

So to hell with the UN. They are disgusting.

Will Matahir EVER SHUT UP!!

The Prime Minister of Malaysia was at it again. Insulting the Jews.. What a disgusting piece of garbage. This time, he says, "Israel is a small country. There are not so many Jews in the world. But they are so arrogant, they defy the whole world. Even if the United Nations says no, they go ahead. Why? Because they have the backing of all these people"

And he goes on to say, "Certainly, he [Bush] did not rebuke me. All he said was that 'I regret today to have to use strong words against you'. After that we were walking practically hand-in-hand." Eww. Mahathir disgusts me. Disgusting filth.

The Savage Nation

Michael Savage standing with his billboard. How cute. Unfortunately, I have seen some of these billboards since this, and some of them have been heavily graffittied. I wish I could post a picture of it next to this one. It's too bad really, because we know the reason they were messed with is because they are posted around San Francisco!
Why does Chirac hate Israel?

The following is from Newsmax.com:

French President Jacques Chirac has blocked the European Union from issuing a statement condemning Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, who said on Thursday that "Jews rule the world by proxy."

"The Europeans killed 6 million Jews out of 12 million, but today the Jews rule the world by proxy," complained Mahathir to a meeting of Islamic leaders gathered in Malaysia. "They get others to fight and die for them."

At an EU summit meeting on Friday, leaders considered issuing a statement that would have denounced Mahathir's remarks as "false" and "offensive," but Chirac led a move to block any criticism, insisting that there was "no place" in an EU declaration for such a statement.
Instead, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi blasted the Malaysian anti-Semite at a post-summit press conference.

Michael Miller, vice president of the Jewish Community Relations Council, condemned Chirac for
blocking a formal EU response, telling the New York Post, "Considering the history of the Holocaust, the European Union should be the first to stand up and to issue a very strongly worded condemnation."

"France's behaviour [in this episode] will do nothing to help mend diplomatic fences badly damaged by the Iraq crisis," said Britain's Independent newspaper.

This got to me

I read the following from Israellycool blog. I hope he doesn't mind that I posted it here. I just think that it is so amazing:

When I shower, it usually takes me seven minutes," says Hayim Foxman, a volunteer with Zaka, the fervently Orthodox rescue and cleanup organization that collects victims' body parts after terrorist attacks. "But after I return home from a terrorist attack, it takes me an hour and 20 minutes."
Foxman pauses. "And I don't know if I am soaked from the water or my tears," he says.

Rested

I had two exams this past week and so last night, after having a lovely dinner with a friend of mine who lives in the city, I came home and slept for twelve hours!!!! I woke up for a while, but eventually just climbed back into bed and slept some more.

So I understand that this entry isn't super exciting but I have little to say (for once) right now and I kind of am thankful. I much prefer having nothing to say than having to talk about something depressing that happened in the world (as is often the case).

Happy Simchas Torah! The Jewish holiday marathon is wrapping up finally!

I read a lot about science and medicine (since I am getting a degree in BioEngineering and all) and I want to post more stuff related to that in the future. Let me know what you think.
