Three years later....G-d bless America

While I am still angry at my country...I realize it is still one of the best places to live. May G-d bless America and the world with peace. On this 3rd anniversary of 9/11 let's not forget what we are fighting for: our freedom to live without fear.

OK, I finally figured out how to send pictures! Here is a recent photo of me taken in my apartment in Berkeley. Posted by Hello

The adventures continue here in Berkeley, California. Today was dealing with the heat and finding out the one class I signed up for, that I thought I needed to graduate was the wrong class....In attempts to correct the situation, I ran around in the heat trying to figure out what the hell I can do. Sadly, there is nothing except beg the Dean of the College of Engineering to allow the class I signed up for count. Please, everyone pray he allows it. I don't want to think about what I will do should he deny my request. Every year, one person jumps off Evans Hall and I don't want that person to be me because of this silly mix up. Just Kidding. I would throw the Dean off if I am denied. Also, just kidding.

Other than that, the heat has been great except for the fact that I have to run around in it. I am one of those people that loves the heat if it means sitting in the sun and relaxing. To ask me to do more than that on a day like today is really far beyond my comfort level.

I also started working today. This time, I don't have a career advancing job in a lab or at a biotech company. Rather, I needed quick cash that doesn't require too much brain work: Babysitting. But here's the strange thing, I am babysitting 2 girls who are 12 and 16. I have no problem doing this but I find it odd that they still need a babysitter. Although, I am more like their personal chauffer taking them home from school and all that good stuff. They are great girls and live in the nicest part of Oakland (bet you never thought nice and Oakland would be in the same sentence without the word NOT). They both go to very expensive private schools and have tutors for everything. Should be interesting. I am hoping that I will be a positive influence on their lives. Started it out great today as I drove them home and in the midst of a traffic pickle let out an "oh shit." Way to go Yael. Way to influence the girls. I will do better next time. In the meantime, this potty mouth has to go do some work. Damn it :)
